Sir Thomas de Holand, K.G., 1st Earl of Kent, son of Sir Robert de Holand, Knt., 1st Lord Holand and Maud La Zouche, was born before 1319.1 He died at Normandy, France, 28 December 1360,1 and was buried at the Church of the Grey Friars, Stamford, Lincolnshire, England.1

Thomas married Joan of Kent "Fair Maid of Kent," Princess of Wales, daughter of Edmund of Woodstock, 1st Earl of Kent and Margaret Wake, Countess of Kent, Lady Wake, before May 1340.1
