Joan of Kent "Fair Maid of Kent," Princess of Wales, daughter of Edmund of Woodstock, 1st Earl of Kent and Margaret Wake, Countess of Kent, Lady Wake, was born 29 September 1328.1 She died 8 August 1385,1 and was buried at the Church of the Grey Friars, Stamford, Lincolnshire, England.1

Joan married (1) Sir Thomas de Holand, K.G., 1st Earl of Kent, son of Sir Robert de Holand, Knt., 1st Lord Holand and Maud La Zouche, before May 1340;1 she married (2) William de Montagu, Earl of Salisbury, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), about 21 January 1340/41, while her first husband was absent in Prussia;2 the marriage was later declared null and void by Cardinal d'Albi in 1349;2 she married (3) Edward of Woodstock "the Black Prince," Prince of Wales, son of Edward III, King of England and Philippa Hainault, 10 October 1362.1
