Walter Cotton, son of John Cotton and Margaret (…), was born at Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, about 1375.1 He died at Landwade, Cambridgeshire, England, 13 May 1445,2,3 and was buried at Landwade.1
Walter married (1) Margery Fressh, whose ancestry is not traced here, before 1397;4 he married (2), as her 2nd husband, Joan Rede, daughter of John Rede and Cecilia Harlyngrugge, before 1409.4,2,3
He was a London mercer and bought the Landwade estate in Cambridgeshire where he rebuilt the church. His tomb is there along with Cotton-Rede/Marmion arms in a stained glass window.3
