Michael de la Pole, 1st Earl of Suffolk, son of William de la Pole and Katherine (…), was born about 1330.1 He died at Paris, France, 5 September 1389,1 and was buried at Church of the Carthusians, Kingston-upon-Hull, East Riding, Yorkshire, England.1

Michael married Katherine Wingfield, daughter of Sir John Wingfield, Knt. and Eleanor de Brews, before 18 October 1361.1

Michael de la Pole, 1st Earl of Suffolk served on campaigns in France between 1355 and 1378. He led an embassy to suggest Richard II's marriage to Anne of Bohemia. Created 1st Earl of Suffolk in 1385. As chancellor, his association with the king's unpopular rule led to his impeachment and later conviction for treason. He fled the realm in 1387.1
