Sir Maurice de Berkeley, Knt., 2nd Lord Berkeley, son of Sir Thomas de Berkeley, Knt., 1st Lord Berkley and Joan de Ferrers, was born between 1271 and 1281.1 He died in prison at Wallingford Castle, Berkshire, England, 31 May 1326.2,3

Maurice married (1) Eva La Zouche, daughter of Eudo la Zouche and Millicent de Cantelowe, in 1289;1,4 he married (2), as her 2nd husband, Isabel de Clare, Lady Berkeley, daughter of Sir Gilbert de Clare, Knt., 6th Earl of Gloucester and Alice de Lusignan, about 1316.2
