Charles of Anjou, King of Jerusalem and Sicily, Count of Anjou, son of Louis VIII "le Lion," King of France and Blanche of Castile, was born in late March 1227.1 He died of fever at Foggia Castle, Capitanata, Italy, 7 January 1285.2

Charles married (1) Beatrice of Provence, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), at Aix-en-Provence, France, 31 January 1246;3 he married (2) Marguerite of Burgundy, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), at Trani, Italy, 18 January 1268.2
