Charles of France, Chev., Count of Valois, son of Philippe III, King of France and Isabella of Aragon, was born at Vincennes, France, 12 March 1270.1 He died at Le Perray, France, 16 December 1325.1

Charles married (1) Marguerite of Sicily, daughter of Charles II of Salerno "the lame," King of Jerusalem and Marie of Hungary, Queen of Hungary, 16 August 1290;1 he married (2) Catherine de Courtenay, daughter of Philippe I de Courtenay, Emperor of Constantinople and Beatrice of Salerno, at Saint-Cloud Priory, Paris, France, about February 1300/1;1 he married (3) Mahaut de Châtillon, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), at Poitiers, France, about July 1308.1
