ChartsAncestors of Cecil Andrew Smith
Mary (…), whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), was born at New Jersey, in 1784.1 She died after April 1853 when she appeared in the Lawrence Co., Illinois court to make her application for a widow's pension.2

Mary married Peter Shidler, son of Peter Shidler and Susannah (…), at Greene Co., Pennsylvania, 5 August 1805.2,3,4

She may have died soon after applying for the pension as it was rejected and there is no record of an appeal. The reason for rejection is that she made no claim of Peter's being wounded in service; her deposition relied on Peter's application for Bounty Land. The rejection memorandum was made at the Vincennes (Indiana) payment office, which would not have had the bounty land application.5
