Samuel Kitchell, son of Robert Kitchell and Margaret Sheafe, was born probably shortly before his baptism at Rolvendon, Kent, England, 6 December 1635.1,2,3 He died at Newark, Essex Co., New Jersey, 26 April 1690.1
Samuel married (1) Elizabeth Wakeman, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), at New Haven, Connecticut, 11 March 1657;1,4 he married (2) Grace Pierson, daughter of Reverend Abraham Pierson and Abigail Mitchell, at Branford, Connecticut, say 1668.1,4
Samuel left a will dated 11 February 1683/84, and proved 20 Jun 1690 naming:
Administration was granted to Patrick Falckener of Newark, 13 Jun 1690, the executrix named having died before the testator.5
