Ann Winchurst, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), was born at England, say 1635.1 She died at Rowley, Essex Co., Massachusetts, 9 July 1729.1

Ann married Duncan Stuart, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), 1654.1,2

Ann Winchurst was a servant first of John Cogswell, who in September 1652 assigned her to Cornelius Waldo. In September 1653 Ann deposed regarding a statement by her mistress Waldo.

Ann must have come to New England as an indentured servant girl, probably orphaned. There is no record of her surname in New England other than for her, and is also rare in England. Threlfall noted one will in Oxfordshire for George Winchurst, gentleman of Culham in 1690. It is not known what other areas he searched, but the IGI has but four Winchest names from extracted records.1
