Dana Roy Logan, son of Dana Selwin Logan and Harriett Marreah Bentley, was born at Allison, Decatur Co., Kansas, 30 August 1885 although some records indicate he was born in Lenora. His father's diary indicates that Allison, Kansas is where they were living when Dana was born. The Logans did not move to Lenora until 1904.1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 He died at Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah, 9 October 1957.10,3,4,11 Both he and his wife were buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah.12,10,4

Dana married Chella Mae Gardner, daughter of Winfield Scott Gardner and Amy Jane Johnson, at Grand Junction, Mesa Co., Colorado, 25 March 1907.3,13,14,15

Dana ranched northwest of Gunnison in 1912. He later worked for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad for 33 years. Dana, along with Roy Mullens and H. L. Funk, built and operated the Gunnison Locker Service in 1941 but then sold out to Funk a year later. Dana and Chella moved to Salt Lake City in 1942 where he was employed by the Purity Biscuit Company for a few years but was retired when he died of a heart attack.

He registered for the WW I draft on 12 Sep 1915 in Gunnison County, Colorado. Described as of medium height and build with brown eyes and hair; 33 years old and born 30 Aug 1885. Occupation was ranching, and he was self employed. Chella M. Logan (wife) was his nearest relative. The certificate has his signature.16,4
