Alanson Cook, son of Nathan Topping Cook and Mary Howell, was born at New York, 7 August 1808.1,2 He died 9 February 1892,1 and was buried at the Hayground Cemetery, Bridgehampton, Suffolk Co., New York.1

Alanson married (1) Caroline Halsey, daughter of Elisha Halsey and Hannah Pierson;3,4 he married (2) Frances M. Halsey, another daughter of Elisha Halsey and Hannah Pierson, after 1852.3
