Affonso II "el Gordo," King of Portugal, son of Sancho I "el Poblador," King of Portugal & The Algarve and Dulce of Aragon, was born at Coimbra, Portugal, 23 April 1185.1 He died at Coimbra, 25 March 1223,1 and was buried at Alcobaça, Portugal.1

Affonso married Urraca of Castile, daughter of Alfonso VIII "el Noble," King of Castile and Eleanor of England, 1206.1

He also had a son with an unknown mistress.2
