Alfonso VIII "el Noble," King of Castile, son of Sancho III, King of Castile and Blanche of Navarre, was born at Soria, Spain, 11 November 1155.1,2,3 He died at Arévalo, Spain, 5 October 1214.1,2,3 Both he and his wife were buried at Santa María la Real monastery, Burgos, Spain.1

Alfonso married Eleanor of England, daughter of Henry II, King of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine, at Burgos, Spain, in September 1170.1,3,2
