Mary Docia Walling, daughter of Hiram Kilgore Walling and Mahala Howard, was born at McMinnville, Warren Co., Tennessee, 1 July 1836.1,2,3,4 She died at McMinnville, 12 July 1889,1 and was buried at Riverside Cemetery, McMinnville, Warren Co., Tennessee.5,6

Mary married (1) David Newton Carder, son of David D. Carder and Mary Scott, say 1861;7,8,9 she married (2) Henry Wilkinson Palmer, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), at McMinnville, 13 October 1870.10

At Riverside Cemetery the stone reads (according to Acklin's Tombstones): Mary Dozia Walling Parmer, July 1, 1836 - April 17, 1876. Acklin's Bible Records shows a death date of 12 Aug 1890. Obviously, there is a discrepancy between the Bible record and stone. Her Find a Grave memorial does not currently have a photo of the stone, though that has been requested (as of Nov 2022).1,5,6
