Philippe II "Auguste," King of France, son of Louis VII, King of France and Adelaide de Blois, was born at Gonesse, France, 22 August 1165.1 He died at Mantes, France, 14 July 1223,1 and was buried at St. Denis, France.1

Philippe married (1) Isabella of Hainault, daughter of Baldwin V, Count of Flanders and Hainault and Margarite of Lorraine, at Bapaume, France, 28 April 1180;1,2 he married (2) Ingeburge of Denmark;2 he repudiated the marriage, 5 November 1193;2 he married (3) Agnès of Merania, 1 June 1196;2 he repudiated that marriage, which had not been recognized by the pope, 7 September 1200.2 He made a fourth trip to the altar to remarry Ingeburge, December 1200. The ancestries of Agnès and Ingeburge are known, but not traced here.2 He also had an unknown mistress by whom he had one son.2
