Alfonso VI, Emperor of Spain, son of Fernando I, Emperor of Spain and Sancha of León, was born in June 1040.1,2,3 He died at Toledo, Spain, 30 June 1109,1,3 and was buried at the Monastery of Sahagún, Spain.3

Alfonso married (1) Agnes of Aquitaine, daughter of William VIII "Guy-Geoffrey," Duke of Gascony & Aquitaine and Matoeda, in 1073 or 1074;4 he married (2) Constance of Burgundy, daughter of Robert "the Old," Duke of Burgundy and Helie (Eleanor), of Semur-en-Brionnais.1

He also had one known mistress, Jimena Muñoz, whose ancestry is uncertain but is characterized as either nobilisima or muy noble, and by whom he had two daughters.5
