David Pierce, son of Ephraim Pierce and Mary Whitney, was born at Groton, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, 23 May 1704.1 He died at Lunenburg, Worcester Co., Massachusetts, 19 September 1746.2

David married Elizabeth Bowers, daughter of Samuel Bowers and Esther Sawtell, at Groton 15 June 1725.3

David Pierce was a cooper and appears in several entries in the town records:

6 Mar 1731/2 sworn in as one of four hoggreives.

1 Mar 1735/6 sworn in as one of two tything men.

11 Jul 1737 named as one of a committee appointed to hire a schoolmaster and provide a location for the school to be kept.

3 Mar 1739/40 sworn in as one of 5 surveyors of highways.

7 Mar 1742/3 sworn in as one of 8 surveyors of highways.

5 Mar 1743/4 chosen as one of two constables.

His will was dated 8 Sep 1746, proved 5 Nov 1746, and named wife Elizabeth, sons David, Samuel, and Joshua, and daughters Elizabeth, Hannah Witherbee, and Esther.4,5,6
