Hugh "Kevelioc," 6th Earl of Chester
Hugh "Kevelioc," 6th Earl of Chester, son of Ranulph de Gernon, Earl of Chester and Maud of Gloucester, was born at Kevelioc, Monmouthshire, Wales, about 1141.1,2 He died at Leek, Staffordshire, England, 30 June 1181,1,3 and was buried next to his father at the chapter house of St Werburgh, Chester, England.
Hugh married Bertrade de Montfort, Countess of Chester, daughter of Simon de Montfort, Count d'Everux and Maude, in 1169.3,1
Hugh also had other children by one or more unknown mistresses.3
A daughter perhaps married William Belward of Malpas in Cheshire, but Ormerod does not give a source.4
