Sir John de Verdun, Knt., son of Theobald le Boteler, 2nd Lord Boteler and Rohese de Verdun, was born about 1226, and took his mother's surname.1 He died before 17 October 1274.2

John married (1) Margaret de Lacy, daughter of Gilbert de Lacy and Isabel Bigod, before 20 April 1242;1 he married (2) Eleanor Bohun, daughter of Sir Humphrey de Bohun, Knt., 6th Earl of Hereford, 7th Earl of Essex and Maud d'Eu, before 1267.2
