Sir Robert of France "le Vaillant," Knt., Count of Artois, son of Louis VIII "le Lion," King of France and Blanche of Castile, was born 17 September 1216.1 He was killed in battle at Mansourah, Egypt, 9 February 1249/50.1

Robert married Mahaut of Brabant, daughter of Henry II, Duke of Brabant and Maria von Hohenstauffen, at Compiegne, France, 14 June 1237.1,2,3
