Blanche of Artois
Blanche of Artois, daughter of Sir Robert of France "le Vaillant," Knt., Count of Artois and Mahaut of Brabant, was probably born in 1248.1 She died 2 May 1302.2 Her body was buried at the church of the Cordeliers, Paris, France, and her heart in the choir of the conventual church of the Minoresses at Nogent-l'Artaud.2
Blanche married (1) Henry I "el Gordo," King of Navarre, son of Thibaud IV, King of Navarre and Margaret de Bourbon, at Melun, France, before February 1269;1,3 she married (2), as his 2nd wife, Sir Edmund of England, Knt., Earl of Lancaster, son of Henry III, King of England and Eleanor of Provence, at Paris, France, before 18 January 1275/76.4
