Sir John de Vere, Knt., 7th Earl of Oxford, son of Sir Alphonse de Vere, Knt. and Joan Foliot, was born about 12 March 1311/12.1 He died at the seige of Rheims, France, 23 January 1359/60.1 Both he and his wife were buried at Earls Colne, Essex, England.1

John married, as her 2nd husband, Maude de Badlesmere, daughter of Sir Bartholomew de Badlesmere, Knt., 1st Lord Badlesmere and Margaret de Clare, before 27 March 1336.1
