Elizabeth Allen
Elizabeth Allen, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), was born at Rhode Island, about 14 March 1787.1,2,3,4,5,6 She died at Cayuga Co., New York, 17 March 1875, aged 88 years, 3 days,1,4,7 and was buried at Kelloggsville Cemetery, Sempronius, Cayuga Co., New York.1
Elizabeth married Caleb Bentley, son of Caleb Bentley and Mary Babcock Hewitt, at Stephentown, Rensselaer Co., New York, 7 January 1805.8,9
As a widow, she claimed a pension and applied for a Bounty-Land Warrant based on her husband's service in the War of 1812.
Based on the early migration pattern of Caleb Allen, and the Spooner name of her son Charles, Elizabeth seems to be related to this family, but her calculated birthdate (based on her cemetery stone) collides with that of Caleb Allen:

"His [Ira Allen] grandfather, Samuel Allen was born in Rhode Island, and was of Scotch Irish extraction. He married Patience Spoon, whose father, a sea-captain, was of English and Welsh descent. Caleb Allen, father of our subject, was born in Rensselaer County, July 15, 1787, and married Hulda Dawley, who was born in Rhode Island on the 18th of October 1788, and was of Welsh lineage. They began their domestic life in his native county where they spent several years, when they removed to Cayuga County."9,10
