Charles Spooner Bentley was a private and served in in Company G of the 16th New York Heavy Artillery, enlisting at Auburn, Cayuga Co., New York, 31 December 1863, to serve three years. He was absent, sick in the hospital at Fort Monroe, Virginia when the company was mustered out..16
