Caleb Bentley
Caleb Bentley, son of Caleb Bentley and Mary Babcock Hewitt, was born at New York, 6 January 1786.1 He died at Rensselaer Co., New York, 2 December 1822,1,2 and was buried in the Center Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Rensselaer Co., New York.3,4,5
Caleb married Elizabeth Allen, whose parents are unknown, at Stephentown, Rensselaer Co., New York, 7 January 1805.6,2
Caleb served as a Private in Capt. Worthington's Co., New York Militia from 8 September 1812 until 30 November 1812.2 His widow later claimed a pension, and made an application for a Bounty-Land Warrant based on his service.2,7
