Sir John de Mowbray, Knt., 3rd Lord Mowbray, son of Sir John de Mowbray, Knt., 2nd Lord Mowbray and Aline de Brewes, was born at Hovingham, Yorkshire, England, 29 November 1310.1 He died of pestilence at York, Yorkshire, England, 4 October 1361,1 and was buried at Friars Minor, Bedford, Yorkshire, England.1

John married (1) Maud Holand, daughter of Sir Robert de Holand, Knt., 1st Lord Holand and Maud La Zouche, before 26 February 1321/22;1 their marriage was later voided;1 he married (2) Joan of Lancaster, daughter of Sir Henry of Lancaster, Knt., Earl of Lancaster and Maud de Chaworth, before 4 June 1328;1 he married (3) Elizabeth de Vere, daughter of Sir John de Vere, Knt., 7th Earl of Oxford and Maude de Badlesmere, 4 May 1351.1
