Squire Force, son of Obadiah Force and Joanna Manning, was born about 1748.1 He died at Madison, Morris Co., New Jersey, 24 April 1829.1,2

Squire married Margaret Johnson, whose parents are not known (or are untraced), at Hanover, Morris Co., New Jersey, 6 March 1770.3,1,2

He was a private in the Morris Co., New Jersey militia in the Revolution.

In a 1778 list of New Jersey Ratables, he is shown as a householder with one horse, 2 horned cattle, and 3 hogs.

"16 Jun 1793, Squire Force, an interloper and intruder, took forcible possession of my lot of ground called the parsonage, at the meeting house." From "Records of the Presbyterian Church at New Providence, New Jersey" kept by the Rev. Jonathan Elder, 1763-1793. So far, a copy of this has not been seen, but a quick google search shows that GMNJ Vol 18 may be the source.1,2,4
