Aletta Carter, daughter of Captain Luke Carter and Zilla Pierson, was born at Madison, Morris Co., New Jersey, 12 February 17971 and baptized there, but not until 23 November 1806, the same date as four other siblings.2 She died at Madison, 28 April 1842, aged "45 yr, 2 mo, 16 da,"3 and was buried at Hillside Cemetery, Madison, Morris Co., New Jersey.3

Aletta married William Force, son of Squire Force and Margaret Johnson, at Madison 17 July 1817.4,3
