William Force, son of Squire Force and Margaret Johnson, was born at Madison, Morris Co., New Jersey, 14 September 1792.1,2,3,4 He died at Brooklyn, Kings Co., New York, 17 January 1860,1 and was buried at Hillside Cemetery, Madison, Morris Co., New Jersey.1,5

William married Aletta Carter, daughter of Captain Luke Carter and Zilla Pierson, at Madison 17 July 1817.2,1

William moved to New York City by 1832 where the youngest daughter was born.

His monument at Hillside Cemetery, notes he died Jan 17, 1860, age 67 yr, 4mo, 3da.

A "mug book" sketch of his son states that William was born near Madison, a carpenter, died about 1867, and had seven children. William's son William died in 1867, and the Madison Presbyterian Church records show the 1860 date for William Sr. The Will for Wm Jr., names a wife, Mary S. See Kings Co., New York probate files.2,1,6
