Joan de Dammartin, daughter of Simon de Dammartin, Count of Aumale and Marie of Ponthieu, was born about 1220.1 She died at Abbeville, Ponthieu, France, 15 March 1278/79,2,1 and was buried at Valoires Abbey, France.1

Joan married (1) Saint Fernando III, King of Castile, son of Alfonso IX, King of Leon and Berenguela I of Castile "la Grande," Queen of Castile and Toledo, 1237;3,1 she married (2) Jean de Nesle, Chev., seigneur of Falvy-sur-Somme, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), between May 1260 and 9 February 1261.1
