Saint Fernando III, King of Castile, son of Alfonso IX, King of Leon and Berenguela I of Castile "la Grande," Queen of Castile and Toledo, was born 5 August 1201.1,2 He died at Seville, Spain, 30 May 1252,3 and was buried at Santa Maria Cathedral, Seville, Spain.3

Fernando married (1) Beatriz of Swabia, daughter of Philip, Duke of Swabia & Tuscany, King of the Romans and Irene Angelos, at Burgos, Spain, 30 November 1220;3 he married (2) Joan de Dammartin, daughter of Simon de Dammartin, Count of Aumale and Marie of Ponthieu, in 1237.2,3
