John Wilder, son of John Wilder and Sarah White, was born at Lancaster, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, 13 April 1713.1,2 He died at Petersham, Worcester Co., Massachusetts, 30 April 1793.3

John married Prudence Wilder, daughter of Nathaniel Wilder and Damaris Whitcomb, at Petersham 29 November 1739.4

In 1790, his household was probably the one enumerated at Petersham, with 3 free white males over 16, and 2 free white females.5

John Wilder permanently removed from Lancaster to Petersham with his cousin Nathaniel when Petersham was first settled, though John was in the neighborhood before 1741.6
