Squire L. Whitehead, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), was born at Elizabethtown, Essex Co., New Jersey, about 1798.1 He died 28 June 1835,1,2 and was buried at Mt. Ida Cemetery, Troy, Rensselaer Co., New York. The Find a Grave memorial notes "Squire L. Whitehead, formerly of Elizabethtown, New Jersey, d. in the faithful expectation of a blissful resurrection, June 28, 1835, 37 yr."1,3,2

Squire married Permelia Sherman, daughter of David Sherman and Sarah Fancher, at Troy, Rensselaer Co., New York, 12 February 1824.4
