Joan, of the Tower, daughter of Edward III, King of England and Philippa Hainault, was born at Tower of London, London, England, February 1335.1 She died at Bordeaux, France, 2 September 1348.1

About 17 March 1346, Joan was contracted to marry Pedro I "the Cruel," King of Castile, son of Alfonso XI, King of Castile and Leon and María of Portugal, but she died of the plague at Bordeaux, France, while enroute to the ceremony.2
