Henry I, Duke of Brabant & Lower Lorraine, son of Godfrey III, Duke of Lorraine & Brabent and Margaret of Limbourg, was born in 1165.1 He died at Cologne, France, 5 September 1235.1

Henry married (1) Mathilda of Flanders, daughter of Mathieu of Flanders and Marie of England, Abbess of Romsey, Countess of boulogne, in 1179;1 he married (2), as her 2nd husband, Marie of France, daughter of Philippe II "Auguste," King of France and Agnès of Merania, at Soissons, France, 22 April 1213.2
