Edward I "Longshanks," King of England
Edward I "Longshanks," King of England, son of Henry III, King of England and Eleanor of Provence, was born at Westminster, Middlesex, England, 17 June 1239.1 He died at Burgh-on-Sands, Carlisle, Cumberland, England, 8 July 1307,1 and was buried at Westminster Abbey, England.1
Edward married (1) Eleanor of Castile, daughter of Saint Fernando III, King of Castile and Joan de Dammartin, at Las Huelgas, Spain, 18 October 1254;1 he married (2) Marguerite of France, daughter of Philippe III, King of France and Marie of Brabant, at Canterbury Cathedral, Kent, England, 8 September 1299.1
