- Captain Luke Carter -

He was commissioned a Captain in the Morris County Militia in the War of 1812. It was noted on 15 May 1812, his "company paraded on Morris Green with 250 of the militia who were assembled for that purpose and were described as a well-disciplined, handsome body of men." He led his company of riflemen on active service for three months, 1 September thru 2 December 1814.
